KENYA: Former NTV Journalist Reveals The Number of KDF Soldiers Killed By Al Shabab

Days after fighters from the al-Shabab group attacked a base for African Union peacekeepers in southwestern Somalia the military base which is run by Kenyan troops who are part of the AU force in the town of El-Ade, not far from the Kenyan border the number of KDF casualities is not yet known as the government is trying to keep it secret.

Al-Shabab said their fighters killed dozens of Kenyan troops in the attack.

Mujahideen fighters from the Commander Saleh An-Nabhani Battallion stormed the Kenyan Defence Forces base in the town of Eel-Adde, Gedo region, over-running the base and killing more than 63 Kenyan crusaders. the group said in a statement seen by Al Jazeera.

Former NTV journalist, Yassin Juma, claims that 103 KDF officers were killed after they were ambushed by members of dreaded Somali terror group, Al Shabaab. Yassin, who has been covering KDF’s operation in Somali for years, says that he received this information from a reliable source within the Kenyan Defence Forces.

Injured and fallen KDF arrive at the Wilson Airport. Death toll stands at #103 according to my KDF source in Gedo. I have been in contact with a group of KDF servicemen detached from the rest headed towards Kenya border somewhere in Nakole after two days in the bush by this hour I believe they have been rescued. 12 KDF soldiers captured by Alshabab have spoken for the first time in an audio released today. There was an ambush by Alshabab on a KDF convoy late Saturday as reinforcement headed to El Adde from Elwak. KDF reportedly hit Wagaddud Shabab camp.
